Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. Position Responsibilities may include:
- Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demandsâ¯
- Provide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requestsâ¯
- Maintain safe working environment.â¯
- Meet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and deliveryâ¯â¯
- Document and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules and work instructionsâ¯
- Compares actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved. Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, to identify unfavorable trends, and to take corrective action.â¯
- Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, Machine Down Time and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient matter.â¯
- Proactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety results.â¯
- Complete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone etc.â¯
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Nature & Scope:
- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations teamâ¯
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completionâ¯
- Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from managerâ¯
- Accountable for the support or production operations team including subordinate work leadersâ¯
- Typically does not spend more than 20% of one's time performing the work supervisedâ¯
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of materials/warehouse inventory best practices and proceduresâ¯
- Working knowledge with warehouse management systemsâ¯
- Working knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methodologies and best practicesâ¯
- Prior working knowledge of MAPICS and Kronos is preferredâ¯â¯
- Strong interpersonal skills, and leadership skillsâ¯
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)â¯
- Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operationsâ¯
- Proven leadership skills, ability to train and develop employeesâ¯
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to converse with employees and upper management,â¯

Competency:
Experience:
- 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar industryâ¯
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role.â¯
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
