Job Description

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Advisor will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced manufacturing processes and systems. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Sourcing and Internal Manufacturing, to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity. The scope with vary from product design review (DfM – Design for manufacturing, DtC – Design to Cost, Should Cost analysis), outsourcing activities (negotiations with suppliers), and internal manufacturing efficiencies improvement.

    QUALITY

    • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System.
    • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.

     

    OPERATIONS

    • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to conceptualize, design and test new products and technologies, using the latest technologies to reach target costs (DtC) and improve parts manufacturability (DfM).
    • Support commercialization activities, ensuring successful launch of new products and processes.
    • Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Develop and implement best practices in advanced manufacturing techniques, including 3D printing, automation, and digital technologies.
    • Conduct root cause analysis on NCR (Nonconformance reports) and implement corrective actions to resolve production issues.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery and high-quality products.
    • Stay current on industry trends and technologies, and bring new ideas and concepts to the team.
    • Performs other duties as needed to support the Supply Chain organization.

     

    COMMUNICATION

    • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
    • Aligns strategic roadmap with key stakeholders across the company.

     

          FINANCIAL

    • All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
    • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
    • Responsible for achieving the commercial cost of goods sold target for associated WCT products.
    • Report variances between PD&C target costs and commercial targets.
    • Responsible for the on time, on budget delivery for all assigned projects.
    • Responsible for reporting on monthly planned v actual progress of assigned projects.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

 

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering or commensurate experience.
  • 6+  years’ of experience in Technology in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods and/or related supply chain management including design, implementation, and execution of manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies and the ability to integrate those into the operation.

 

PREFERRED

 

  • MBA or master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • Proficient with aPriori, Windchill and Oracle.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Experience with Oil and Gas downhole tools.

PREFERRED

 

Change management and transformational change experience.
