Assistant Project Manager – Construction


The Assistant Project Manager position at Burrow Global is crucial. You will be responsible for supporting the financial administration and guiding construction project direction, coordination, and performance. As a key client liaison, you will ensure precise project execution through comprehensive Project Management Plans. This role will be based in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas.


Responsibilities/Duties:



  • Assisted in ensuring project performance aligned with schedule and cost budgets, negotiating changes with clients when necessary.

  • Support decision-making processes impacting engineering activities, maintaining key contacts for persuasion and negotiation.

  • Assist in recommending personnel and allocating funds to meet organizational objectives.

  • Coordinate internal and external engineering resources throughout project phases.

  • Review discipline-specific design deliverables for compliance and facilitate smooth field implementation.

  • Monitor design and quality compliance post-project completion.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the design and construction of industrial and commercial buildings.

  • Review design scope criteria and quantities, coordinating with projects for additional estimating bases.

  • Establish conceptual scope for studies and scoping requirements for cost estimates.

  • Prepare estimate basis and assumption documentation.

  • Coordinate pricing structure for discipline or specialty cost estimates.


Education and Work Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution (or equivalent experience).

  • At least three years of progressive experience in roles within large commercial/industrial building construction programs.

  • Familiarity with subcontract formation and execution management.

  • Understanding of significant project management prerequisites and safety protocols associated with construction activities.

  • Proficiency in performance management and enhancement of troubled projects or contracts.

  • Ability to assist in mobilizing and overseeing multiple sites concurrently.

  • Desired experience in construction and multidisciplinary projects involving extensive civil, structural, architectural, and MEP.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering positive work relationships among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Self-motivated individual who can work autonomously, exercise professional judgment, assume project ownership, and deliver effective technical leadership to contractor personnel and field engineers.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Procore project management software preferred.
