What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience designing high quality solutions, conducting peer reviews, implementing user stories, and supporting production applications
  • Extensive experience working with Java based applications
  • Experience in REST APIs, JSON, XML, and Web based applications
  • Experience working in a CI/CD development pipeline
  • Ability to work closely with the product manager and end users to translate business requirements into scalable and highly available tools
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or React
  • Experience with SaaS and cloud-based technologies (Google Cloud, Google Pub Sub)
  • Experience integrating with 3rd party software systems and platforms

This salary range is specific to Colorado, New York, California, and Washington.

The starting salary for this position is $92,800– $106,800 and may increase to $120,500 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from our Houston, TX Corporate office or a remote location.

Want to be part of this? We currently have an exciting opportunity for Backend Software Engineer II to join our Tailored Technology team.  This individual will have experience in Java development and cloud-based microservices to join our Store Systems team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge applications in a collaborative and agile environment. 

 

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs
  • Design and build our next generation systems using a micro-service architecture
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services that are performant, scalable and secure
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
  •  Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure software quality
  • Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to store and retrieve data efficiently
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability
  • Build applications with a mobile first approach
  • Ability to estimate level of efforts with a high degree of accuracy
  • Work in a team-based environment using Agile/Scrum methodologies
