General Overview of Position:

ARCXIS is seeking Electrical Designers and Engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in Electrical Design and Engineering of commercial structures. This includes many aspects of the production of electrical load calculations, single line diagram, panel schedule, power and lighting plans, site lighting / site power plans, site photometric studies, and lighting fixture designs in AutoCAD. Electrical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one-stop shop solution to our partners commercial design needs.


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Job duties will be to produce Electrical Load Calculations, Single-Line Diagrams, and Panel Schedules
  • Understand the design process from DD to CD
  • Coordinate and attend meetings for all phases of projects from initial phase – to - completion to include: utility coordination, MEP internal coordination, and applicable tasks
  • Respond to all electrical RFI’s and/or Shop drawings per the contractual deadlines
  • Communicate directly with clients for problems & resolutions, provide expert advice and project specifications that aid client teams
  • Additional duties will be to produce Power and Lighting Plans, Site Lighting / Site Power Plans, Site Photometric Studies/Calculations, and Lighting Fixture Designs
  • Electrical Engineering and design of single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise commercial Electrical plans
  • Generate detailed Electrical Design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of Electrical Plans for bidding and construction
  • Provide estimated hours for new work based on estimated effort required
  • Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
  • Utilize Excel tables and formulas to assist in Electrical Load Calculations
  • Work with design staff and drafters to complete projects


Competencies:

  • 10-15+ years’ experience using AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
  • Visual Lighting
  • AGI 32
  • The ability to read blueprints, both in CAD and final plan sets
  • Compute dimensions from architectural plans
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Know and understands NEC (National Electrical Code), ICC International Codes, IBC Codes, and Uniform building codes
  • Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments across multiple projects simultaneously with or without direct supervision throughout all phases of projects.
  • Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
  • Self-directed, with good initiative and a great multi-tasker
  • Understanding of voltage drops and the equipment distribution/layout needs



Requirements

Education, Experience, and Desired Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
  • Preferred 10+ years’ experience in Electrical Design for commercial building systems, code compliance, and construction.
  • 8-10 years experience supervising and/or leading, up to and including, construction administration phases of commercial projects.
  • Electrical Design experience with producing Electrical Load Calculations, Single Line Diagrams, and Panel Schedules
  • Electrical photometric design experience by use of Visual Lighting software
  • Electrical Design experience with large residential/commercial projects to include: mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed-use buildings, amenity centers, clubhouses, and enclosed parking garages, etc.
  • Candidate should be able to refer to architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings for coordination purposes across all disciplines, with regard to timeliness of project completion and deadlines.


Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
