Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Estimator II to join our client’s construction management/cost control team. This role focuses on handling cost estimates for a portfolio of construction projects within the Houston area. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience, expertise in cost estimation, and knowledge of RS Means.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop conceptual estimates with minimal assistance using preliminary design documents and information.
• Support Project Managers in reviewing contractor change proposals, material substitutions, and value engineering solutions.
• Maintain a cost database, leveraging historical project costs for future planning and vendor identification.
• Assist in bid preparation, scoping contractor bids, and ensuring alignment with project specifics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and local jurisdictions to integrate project objectives, schedules, and costs.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of construction project management experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity within construction.
• Proven expertise in cost estimation for new construction, renovations, and infrastructure.
• Experience utilizing RS Means for cost analysis.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows environment).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience with Procore, Smartsheet, and MS Project.
• Background in project scheduling and financial accounting systems.

Position Summary:

This role focuses on facilities construction project management, including developing new facilities, renovations, and infrastructure improvements. The Construction Cost Estimator II will:

• Lead or coordinate construction projects, ensuring projects remain within budget and on schedule.
• Develop project budgets, assign tasks, and manage responsibilities for team members throughout the project duration.
• Ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment resources.
• Oversee and direct construction personnel to maintain efficiency and project quality.
