KFA is looking for a Senior Autodesk Civil 3D CAD Technician/Designer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to be part of our Team. In this position you will perform advanced design/drafting assignments with minimal supervision, working with a Team of Engineers and Technicians on water, wastewater, transportation, and drainage projects for our Public Sector clients. This position can be based in our Austin, Round Rock, Houston, or San Antonio office.


 


 


The primary responsibilities of the Autodesk Civil 3D CAD Technician/Designer include:


 


 




  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Engineers to provide drafting and design support during planning, design and construction for water, wastewater, roadway, and drainage projects.




  • Work with a team on production of plans from survey to final design, including creating alignments, creating surfaces and contours, generating plan and profile sheets, creating roadway corridors, and using Civil 3D styles for labeling while using multiple client standards.




  • Work under the supervision of senior staff to interpret plans and data from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.).




  • Perform CAD modifications based on plan markups, sketched information, and verbal direction.




  • Prepare presentation materials and graphics for project development, meetings, and reports.




  • Train junior staff on the use of Autodesk Civil 3D through one-on-one interaction and in informal group




 


 


Requirements:


 




  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate in CAD, Engineering Design, or related field.




  • Ten years of experience in civil drafting and plan production, including grading and pipe profiles.




  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.




  • Working knowledge of CAD standards, Civil 3D objects and label styles, linetypes, sheet set manager and drawing setup.




  • Understanding of geospatial coordinate systems.




  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team at others.




  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to build relationships with team members.




  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit a plus.




  • Working knowledge of MicroStation a plus.
