Overview
An Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. They are responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of electrical systems in various settings, such as power generation, manufacturing, and construction.
Key responsibilities
- Design: Design electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists
- Application: Apply specifications of Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters
- Suport: Assist in all phases of product development engineering activities
- Calculations: Calculate wire sizes/overload protection for cranes up to 800V DC and 4160V AC
- Problem Resolution: Resolve manufacturing problems by collaborating with engineers and technicians
- Drawings: Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings
- Component Specification: Size and specify purchase components/BOMs based on standards and vendor information
- Design Improvement: Provide input for design improvements to enhance functions or reduce costs
- Circuit Modification: Modify/improve existing circuit designs as necessary
- Collaboration: Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing for control system design
- Documentation: Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings
- Field Support: Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems when required
Required qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree
- Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer is required
- Previous experience with Electrical Design is required
- Previous experience with Motor Controls is required
- AutoCAD 2016 or Zuken E3 experience
- PLC & HMI Programming experience
- NEC Electrical Code
- Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD programming experience
