Location:    Houston, TX

Summary:   

An electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Electricians work with power distribution systems, circuit boards, lighting, and other electrical components to ensure systems are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.

Job Duties

• Installation: Install electrical systems and wiring in new constructions or existing buildings. This includes outlets, switches, circuit boards, and lighting fixtures.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, and electrical panels. Inspect systems for potential issues or hazards and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Upgrades: Assist in upgrading or modifying existing electrical systems to meet current codes, improve efficiency, or accommodate new technology.
• Testing: Use specialized tools to test electrical systems for functionality, safety, and compliance with electrical codes and standards. Ensure systems are grounded and functioning properly.
• Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and repairs are in compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Safety: Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working with electrical systems to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including electrical drawings, permits, inspections, and work orders.
• Collaboration: Work with other tradespeople, such as builders, HVAC technicians, and plumbers, to complete projects efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Electrical License preferred (Journeyman or Masters Electrician)
• 3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment with electrical expertise

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of plant and production equipment
• Knowledge of control panel assembly and trouble-shooting
• Knowledge of motor maintenance (dismantles, identify failure modes, etc…)
• Knowledge of all electrical components and their function (electro-valves, motors, sensors, etc…)
• Ability to maintain all electrical components (CNC, PLC, electro-valves, sensors, switches, etc…)
• Knowledge of wiring & cabling procedures following the international and local standards and codifications
• Knowledge of crane repairs
• Ability to read electrical drawings
• Ability to use all electrical tools (handling sets, multi-meters, solders, crimping tools, electrical drills and light jack-hammers, etc…)

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
