Summary of Position/Purpose:


The HR Director provides HR leadership and oversees many aspects of human resource management for the Company. The HR Director is responsible for leading HR policies and procedures, compensation administration, performance management, professional development, and compliance. This role partners with the Sr. VP of Human Resources on things that are harmonized across all our division.




Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Lead and administer compensation and performance management including salary benchmarking analysis to ensure market competitiveness, pay grades, equity of base and incentive pay programs, annual and new hire performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and merit increases.

  • Along with the Sr. HR Manager, help lead the talent development process.

  • Lead organization design efforts including organization structure, job descriptions, and maintaining company organization charts.

  • Mentor and develop HR staff, providing professional development opportunities.

  • Mentor, guide and coach managers on employee performance and career issues and development opportunities.

  • Administration of workers compensation including aggressive claims management of restricted duty and lost time. Work with managers to maintain OSHA log and compliance records.

  • Partner with Safety and Operations on safety programs and root cause analysis, providing follow up and preventive solutions to reduce accident and incidents.

  • Lead employee relations investigations and any employment litigation

  • Create and deliver professional employee communications including policy or procedure updates.

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.

  • Administer and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Support merger and acquisition activities and associated integration of acquired businesses, including employee onboarding, payroll, benefits, and HR systems conversions.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree required; SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience including experience in manufacturing or distribution; generalist roles; and roles managing one or more direct reports.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.

  • Occasional travel as needed.

  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and practices as well as relevant employment law and regulations.

  • Extensive experience in the administration of HR processes, including benefits, compensation, performance management, and related human resource programs.

  • Excellent employee relations skills, ability to manage conflict and foster an environment of positive employee relations at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to be discreet and maintain high confidentiality of employee and proprietary information that this position will have access to on a regular basis.

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability to act as a true business partner to the Sr. VP of HR and Executive Leadership Team
