Description

Summary of Essential Functions for the Position:


Committed to Caring, The Insurance Authorization Specialist is responsible for verifying all patient benefits and obtains and maintains authorizations. Assists in payment posting and daily reports.


Qualifications

Qualifications / Licensure / Certification / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:


 



  • Experience in healthcare or home care billing preferred.

  • Must be well organized and demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Ability to work within a team environment and with deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must demonstrate good customer relations skills and a commitment to providing quality service.

  • Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.

  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement requirements.

  • Acceptance and ability to demonstrate and support the core values and goals of Agency.

  • Ability to provide knowledge and skills as it pertains to the billing process

  • Valid driver's license, automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required.

  • Travel may be required.

  • On call may be required.


Educational Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED.


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:



  • Working environment is relatively quiet and can be stressful due to deadlines, multiple task and general compliance of law, rules and regulations. The position requires visual acuity and dexterity, sitting, standing, some pushing, pulling and lifting up to 25 pounds. Auto related accidents possible.
