AUTOARCH Architects, a Houston-based leading full-service architecture, planning and interior design firm is looking for a dynamic and talented Interior Architectural Designer to join their team and create impact.





Purpose of the position





In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the interior spaces of our projects, harmonizing functionality with aesthetic appeal. You will collaborate closely with architects and project managers to develop and refine design concepts, ensuring they align with client needs and project objectives.






Your responsibilities will include the preparation of drawings, material boards, and detailed models using Revit and Adobe Creative Suite. A strong understanding of building codes and regulations is essential, as your designs must comply with these standards. You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, understanding their vision and offering innovative solutions that enhance their spaces.








As an Interior Architectural Designer, you will manage multiple aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial sketches and planning through to construction administration. This will involve coordinating with contractors and vendors, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring all documentation is up to date. Your role is pivotal in maintaining the quality control of all documents and designs under your purview.

 


Duties and responsibilities





  • Under coordination of the architect or project manager, prepare, develop and complete drawing, images, materials and boards as related to the project design. 

  • Work with the client to understand design preferences, requirements, and pro-actively propose approved improvements and/or cost savings.

  • Prepare sketches, floor plans, models, and detailed drawings using design software, while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

  • Collaborating on the project from inception through design, with some involvement anticipated in construction administration.

  • Actively maintain a complete assortment of materials, finishes and colors.

  • Coordinate work with contractors and vendors during construction and completion

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation, and update management on status, progress and bottlenecks.

  • Participate in team and scrum meetings.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, materials and technology.

  • Responsible for Quality Control of all documents under responsibility

  • Acts in accordance with the AUTOARCH Architects Mission, Vision and Value statements, and actively leads by example in execution as a role model for the rest of staff.





Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing commercial interior projects.

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and accessibility requirements.

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office suite

  • 3D Visualizing Software: Sketch Up and Lumion Render.

  • Ability to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.

  • A quick learner who is able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Effective communicator, collaborative, and team-conscious.
