Your Role

As a Gensler Senior Interior Designer in our dynamic Houston office, you will lead creative, collaborative teams who are dedicated to design innovation and excellence. You are passionate about your craft, and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will use your unique design perspective to bring new approaches to design process and strategy, develop next-generation talent, and help our clients redesign what’s possible.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the creative efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies and vision

  • Inspire, mentor and provide creative direction to design teams

  • Act as the primary design interface with clients and consultants

  • Collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy

  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts

  • Selecting interior finishes, furniture and equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting

  • Producing space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation

  • Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives

  • Review drawings, mock ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors

  • Foster and cultivate a culture of design of the office and strives to elevate design quality on projects

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture 

  • 10+ years of professional interior design and/or architecture experience

  • NCIDQ certified

  • LEED accreditation is preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills

  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices
