Role


The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for ensuring product design consistency and quality, improving manufacturing processes, conducting necessary training for manufacturing associates, and liaising between the shop floor manufacturing and design engineering teams.


The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.


Essential Functions



  • Develop and maintain Production Bills of Materials (BOMs).

  • Create manufacturing routings and work instructions to ensure product quality and consistency.

  • Conduct training for manufacturing associates on process improvements and use of new tools.

  • Develop time standards for manufacturing processes.

  • Design tools and fixtures to improve efficiency and safety.

  • Manage Non-Conformance Report (NCR) dispositions and costs, and Material Review Board (MRB) area.

  • Initiate and complete engineering document changes (redlines) and ensure proper documentation for revision changes.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues with product and ensure ease of manufacturability for new product designs.

  • Coordinate the implementation of manufacturing process improvements.

  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements.

  • Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline approved by Manager.

  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with design and manufacturing or oil field engineering.

  • Ability to develop fixtures and/or documentation for products to train assembly, machinist, welding, and test personnel.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and other sources for specifications.

  • General working knowledge of Microsoft Office and company ERP system.


Skills, Abilities & Work Style



  • Works on own initiative, with minimum supervision.

  • Responsible for time studies and router management for assembly, machine, and fabrication shops.

  • Responsible for cost change log to manage year end cost rolls.

  • Responsible for Welding Procedure records and welder continuity log.

  • Responsible for Placeholder report.


Work Environment & Physical Demands



  • This position requires working primarily in an office environment. When on work sites it requires working on surface areas that are often muddy or slippery. It also requires working around heavy machinery, mechanical equipment with moving parts and electrical equipment as well as exposure to loud noises and contaminants. The employee is regularly required to operate vehicles and drive long distances on company business.
