Job Scope:

Are you passionate about driving efficiency in the business and building a learning and growing organisation?  Huntsman is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Excellence Director to support the Advanced Materials Division located in The Woodlands, Texas.

This position, reporting to the Vice President Operations, will lead our continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence across our 16 manufacturing facilities. The role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization’s efficiency, quality, and Zero Harm culture.

As Manufacturing Excellence Director, your key accountabilities will be: 

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance manufacturing processes and improve overall operational efficiency in alignment with the divisional business strategy.
  • Provide leadership guidance to drive Zero Harm culture and performance at every level of the organization.  Create an engaged culture to drive safety, innovation, collaboration and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement a business wide quality culture by linking market requirements with business performance expectations.
  • Define and implement a Continuous Improvement roadmap for the division to enable the culture of ‘better every day’ across the global operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulation and employ the use of industry best-practice standards to improve the ability of the division to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to our stakeholders.  
  • Define and implement a global tolling strategy and business plan that enables increases manufacturing competitiveness.
  • Develop and coordinate the execution of an integrated business planning governance process to support the execution of the division business strategy.
  • Mentor and develop team members (direct and indirect reports) to build a high-performing and learning organisation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align manufacturing goals with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with our safety and regulation standards.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience and at least 10 years of management experience in leading business and manufacturing strategy.
  • Understanding of the key drivers of manufacturing performance (Six Sigma, lean continuous improvement etc.) in a global network, with focus on continuous improvement and performance excellence.
  • Experience in developing and leading teams with matrix and indirect reporting relationships.
  • Strong influencing and motivational skills with the ability to manage diverse groups.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Facilitation skills to help solve problems, devise solutions, build teamwork.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various business disciplines
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plan and comfortable navigating in changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in business administration a plus.
  • Experience in large scale, global chemical manufacturing network is highly preferred.
