About the Position


Execute engineering design projects to provide reliable and cost-effective solutions by developing new tools or sustain the existing tools and products for downhole applications in the oil and gas industry.  The product lines include Wellbore Departure, Well Abandonment, Thru Tubing and Fishing.   


The Engineer’s responsibility will be performing tasks such as conceiving and implementing design improvements, feature enhancements and size additions in a timely manner, as requested by the product line management to support sustaining and continuous growth.  This includes producing engineering CAD models and drawings, performing design calculations and conducting analyses, and validating the designs with lab tests, when needed.  Additionally, the Engineer will lead/assist in product troubleshooting and support manufacturing and field-testing activities, as required.   


Primary Responsibilities



  • Design and develop new downhole components or sustain existing tools according to project specifications. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed engineering designs. 

  • Create accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in Creo for manufacturing and assembly purposes. 

  • Conducting design calculations and analyses to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed solutions. 

  • Experience in performing FEA is a plus. 

  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical support to resolve design-related issues. 

  • Maintain proper documentation of design changes, revisions, and project updates. 

  • Evaluate non-conformances from Manufacturing and provide timely dispositions. 

  • Create lab and field test plans and reports as required. 

  • Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project objectives 


 Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology or associate’s degree with proven technical experience in design analysis, calculations, conducting lab tests in an oil field environment may be considered. 

  • Oil & Gas experience is essential. 

  • Minimum 3 years of design experience, preferably in oil field tools.  

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Creo is required. 

  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards. 

  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
