About you and this role:
The Contruction Specialist is part of the Operations IT/OT Equipment Digital Thread - Engineer and Build Team. This role supports global processes, procedures, and IT applications, tools, and systems aligned with the AWP (Advanced Work Packaging) construction business process area.
The Construction BPS (Business Process Specialist) will provide project-based support services for managing data processing tasks associated with the use of the AWP Software platform for several capital projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills in scripting, database management, or ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) integration applications. Additionally, strong analytical skills are required to coordinate and support data mapping activities to interface client-specific systems and project-specific data sources into the selected AWP Software platform. The ideal candidate would have specific construction processes knowledge and is able to effectively work across geographies, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work with others.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Works closely with project and construction management teams to provide weekly updated data sets in the AWP software, including isometrics (PCF/IDF files), 3D CAD models, project control databases, and various other spreadsheets and databases
- Performs updates of the AWP software system integrations based on a keen understanding of functionality requirements and the data available for the project
- Manages the configuration of the AWP software deployment, including concurrent and system usage of a Systems Integration environment, Testing environment, Production environment, and Training environments to be employed effectively on the capital project(s)
- Engages with the AWP Team and project team end users to analyze, clarify, and document work processes, and troubleshoot issues with project data
- Ensures that client project delivery schedules are met on time and on budget
- Solves customer problems and identifies other areas of opportunity for improvement
- Creates client-specific specification documents for the maintenance of the AWP software deployment
- Ensures timely communication between project team members and other groups to recognize and address any delivery issues
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Engineering, Projects, or Construction
- Extensive experience in MS Access, Power BI, and Power Automate tools; .NET, VBA, and understanding of database structure, security, roles, creating database queries, custom reports, dashboards, data validation, and data management, in database development and administration using tools such as Access and/or SQL
- Knowledge of AWP Software such as ConstructSim, WorkPacks, O3, Synchro, or SPC
- Proficient in English (written and verbal) and use of communication tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred skills:
- A degree in computer science or engineering
- Knowledge of construction processes and/or experience in Industrial Construction/Engineering, including craft-level field expertise
- Knowledge of material warehousing and construction material logistics
- Knowledge of Smart Plant Material or other material management tools
- Software development skills and working knowledge of 3D CAD engineering design, materials management, and project controls applications
- Knowledge of Universal Plant Viewer (UPV) Software
- Strong organizational, interpersonal effectiveness and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving management and issue resolution skills
