Position Overview:
The Operations and Mobile Unit Driver will supports Clinical Health Services (CHS) Mobile & Clinical teams by driving mobile units and other Harris County vehicles to events. This position will support CHS with event set up, on-site management, and take down of mobile events that take place all over Harris County. This position will provide inventory management and coordination of CHS supplies and materials such as; needles, bandages, medical waste containers, vaccines, medications, tables, chairs, & administrative supplies. Monthly Inventory management of CHS clinical supplies,and some coordination of ensuring CHS vehicles are in compliance and receive scheduled maintenance. The successful candidate must operate as a strong collaborator with a high degree of coordination and flexibility assisting with the team needs and collaborating with staff to ensure smooth operations and successful events. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Primary driver and logistics support for the Mobile Team schedule as assigned by the Clinical Health Services Program Manager and or Director. Includes some evening and weekend events.
  • Monitors and reports condition of the mobile units and ensures maintenance is kept up to date, including routine inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and other related services.
  • Maintains cold storage supplies and equipment for all sites, ensuring refrigeration equipment and related supplies are appropriately monitored, calibrated, and certified.
  • Assists in clinical operations by providing courier service in transporting materials and supplies while operating a wide variety of vehicles including but not limited to passenger vans, cargo vans, diesel powered multi-ton box trucks, and hauling trailers.
  • Serves as an additional support for Clinical Health Services Operations which will include supply Inventory, ordering, as well as on site clinic support.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements


Education:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent.

Experience:

  • Six (6) Months of experience with operating/driving large vehicles. 

Licensure:

  • Valid Driver’s License (Texas upon hire)

Preferences


Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience supporting events.
  • One (1) year of experience with inventory management. 


General Information


Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time | Grant-Funded

  • 40 Hours per week

  • Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends
  • Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department. 

Work Environment:

  • This job is primarily in the field with driving and on-site event support, often outdoors.

  • This role routinely utilizes computers and phones to fullfill work obligations. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to drive and operate a variety of vehicles, including lift over 50 lbs and bending and standing for periods of time
