Performs routine to difficult design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic drafting techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry standards, and design standards. May supervise other design personnel. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities.
Job Responsibilities:
Independently develops CAD drawings using CADworx 3D software from scratch utilizing design sketches or catalog information.
Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work designed.
Prepares complex engineering and constructions drawing from scratch, sketches or verbal instruction, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc.
Mentors less experienced designers and drafters.
Supports field assignments as required.
Field notes are neatly arranged, accurate and complete.
Must be able to perform the functions of the lower level classifications.
Independently undertake actions, make recommendations, or provide notification when potential problems and opportunities are discovered or additional assignments are required.
Job Qualifications:
2 year college degree. Experience based on knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify.
20 years’ experience.
ACAD/Cadworx proficiency from modeling to create isometrics.
Be able to work with RECAP- scan files.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Produce clear and organized output, with conformance to standards.
