Senior Cost Accountant, Houston, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the cost accounting function, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. This role requires a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the cost accounting function, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and inventory valuation • Prepare and analyze cost reports, including actual vs. budget and forecast • Provide input and recommendations to operations and finance teams regarding cost control measures • Develop and maintain cost models and associated documentation • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures • Coordinate with external auditors on audit and tax matters • Provide guidance and training to accounting staff as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting • Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles and practices • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills • Excellent analytical and communication skills • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
