Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Mechanical Engineer position encompasses two (2) core roles, Mechanical Engineer and Project Management duties, both are to be performed in harmony.
Mechanical Engineering Portion: Evaluate Mechanical Engineering plans and specifications to ensure progress, completion of assignments, and all project documentation is accurate/reliable. Provide design assistance to Mechanical engineers as needed to complete fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design. Provide support during construction phases and be a quick thinker to solve potential issues and obstacles in the field.
Project Management Portion: Interact with facility and clients to identify their requirements, define project scope, timelines, and prepare project proposals. Ensure that projects are successfully completed on schedule, meeting client needs, within the approved budget and in accordance with applicable quality standards. Guide and manage the Project Team (engineers, drafters, and support staff) to a successful project completion incorporating PBS high quality standards and client satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:

7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer and/or Project Manager working with consulting engineer or firm designing mechanical systems for facilities/buildings.

Strong Mechanical/HVAC design capability in healthcare, aviation, and higher education related projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people through oral presentations and written communications.
- Ability to motivate multiple-discipline project teams in meeting client's needs in a timely manner and meeting budget objectives.
- Ability to work well under pressure, juggle, and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining strong client relationships are required.
- Computer literacy including all core applications and ability to quickly learn as needed.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer License preferred
- LEED Certification/CEM preferred
- PMI Certification preferred
- REVIT and AUTOCAD experience preferred
