Position: Senior Technical Sales Representative
Location: US – Remote (Southern US)

Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hrs/Wk, plus travel

 

We are seeking a Senior Technical Sales Representative in the Southern US (AZ,NM,AR,LA, MS and parts of TX).  This individual will be responsible for the sale of new activated carbon, equipment and services as well as growing and maintaining current business relationships within the municipal drinking water and wastewater marker.   This role requires selling/influencing decision makers in operations, procurement, management, consulting engineers, general contractors, etc. Typical territory revenue responsibility is $12-$20 MM (not confined to this range).
 
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Prepare and document all sales proposals and customer communications as required by the company and business unit directives. The use of GCRM to record and share meaningful customer & market content, including bid results, competitive pricing, and other relevant activities
  • Maintain and grow the current assigned sales territory
  • Develop deep and multi-level and multi-functional market relationships with customer base and prospects, especially higher level relationships with key individuals of major consulting firms, public utilities and private water companies
  • Conduct activities in a safe manner
  • Attend and be involved with regional water conferences and organizations
  • Organize, coordinate and participate in day-long seminars in key geographical regions in order to educate attendees on Calgon Carbon’s drinking water technologies
  • Keep management informed of all activities, including business threats and opportunities, in the assigned customer and market territory
  • Assigned to special projects on an as-needed basis
  • Responsible for the achievement of geographical territory annual sales and profit plan goals
  • Conduct activities to grow profitability for the defined geographical territory and be judicious with expenses
  • Execute strategies, most importantly specification adoption for municipal bids in order to strengthen Calgon Carbon’s position versus the competition
  • Organize and present relevant technical based presentations to customers and other market influencers
  • Conduct activities in accordance with the marketing plan and sales strategies for assigned customer and market responsibilities
  • Participation in training activities
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Degree in Engineering is preferred) 
  • MBA is preferred
  • 7-10 years Technical Sales Experience is required
  • Selling or Marketing into the Municipal Water Treatment Market is preferred
