Overview of Position
As a key member of the thought leadership and content team, you will be responsible for driving the creation and dissemination of high-quality materials that align with Corebridge’s strategic priorities, product and service offerings, the company’s brand and vision, and partner and client objectives. This requires an exceptional ability to understand target audiences and create compelling stories and innovative, evidenced-based insights that engage, inspire, and motivate people to take action. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with highly developed writing skills, is a strategic thinker and planner with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to produce engaging, high-quality content across various platforms. They are well-versed in crafting compelling narratives and messages that resonate with multiple audiences and can quickly distill complex information into clear and concise messaging. This individual will conduct research programs, analyze partner needs, and stay updated on industry trends, policy proposals, and business requirements. By collaborating with internal partners, you will ensure all content is applicable and fully optimized. At your core, you are an exceptional storyteller with a thorough understanding of how to bring smart content to life.
Responsibilities:
- Write and produce exceptional high-quality, engaging and original content that captivates and holds a reader’s attention, based on thorough subject matter research and understanding.
- Serve as lead on high-impact research projects, extracting stories from data, and working closely with stakeholders to create materials including research reports, white papers, articles, client brochures, infographics, messaging decks, digital content and more.
- Play a critical role in shaping the narrative of content developed for specific lines of business and the organization overall, with messaging and narratives that influence and drive activity in core markets.
- Identify opportunities to establish the organization and its key leadership as thought leaders in the industry and core niche areas. This may include contributing content for industry publications, conference engagement, and panel discussions.
- Work closely with senior leadership, department and colleagues in marketing, distribution, product and customer acquisition to ensure alignment and integration of content programs with broader organizational objectives.
- Develop content strategies for maximizing reach and impact through multiple channels, including social, email, SEO and partnerships. Work with internal partners to monitor content performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize activation and distribution efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the development of upcoming research, based on a thorough understanding of organizational priorities, market trends and industry innovation. Help lead research agenda ideation, develop survey questionnaires, and accurately interpret findings to be used across all content development..
What you need to know
- Exceptional writing and communication skills with 10+ years’ experience in financial services or related field.
- Strong understanding of financial protection products and services, including annuities, insurance and group retirement plans. Ability to understand complex products quickly and write about them in plain language.
- Capacity to critically evaluate data, identify patterns, trends, and correlations, and draw meaningful insights to inform content development and support core messaging. This includes quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, or a combination of both.
- Proficiency in creating representation of data such as charts, graphs, tables and infographics to enhance understanding and readability of content.
- Exceptional skills in communicating complex topics in a clear, concise, compelling, and engaging manner. This includes structuring content logically, using appropriate language, and adherence to style and medium guidelines.
- Ability to work independently through the entire writing process (research, write, re-write and work with internal stakeholders and partners to get content reviewed, approved and distributed).
- Commitment to delivering projects on time with exceptional quality.
- Passionate about always improving as a writer and project owner, embracing feedback, advice, and growth opportunities.
- Ability to work across teams to interview, gather information, and provide compelling stories.
- Adept at software and work management programs as part of content creation process.
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape and policies related to the industry.
- Experience working with brand and copy standards, including style, voice and tone.
- Must have meticulous editing skills with a keen eye for detail, accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and adapt quickly to evolving priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Willingness to ask questions and seek help when needed.
- Ability to derive and enhance solutions from existing processes.
