Description

Cimarron is seeking a Software Developer to join our groundbreaking team developing the next lunar rover as part of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) program in Houston, TX. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a lunar terrain vehicle's rapid prototyping and autonomous navigation capabilities.


This is a short-term opportunity that can be extended and has significant potential for growth.

Key Duties:



  • Collaborate with the autonomous driving team to flush out software architecture for off-road driving, hazard detection, and path planning.

  • Develop rapid prototypes for autonomous vehicle systems, focusing on implementing cutting-edge technology.

  • Work on hazard detection algorithms, optical navigation, LIDAR integration, and real-time path planning.

  • Assist with the preparation for a prototype demonstration.

  • Provide expertise in factor graph search, A* search, particle filters, and high-definition autonomy (HDA).



Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:



  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.

  • 5 or more years of related experience. 

  • Proven experience in software development for autonomous vehicles or related fields.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:

    • Autonomous off-road driving

    • Hazard detection and path planning algorithms

    • Factor graph search and A* search algorithms

    • Particle filters

    • LIDAR and optical navigation

    • HDA (High Definition Autonomy)



  • Ability to work independently and contribute to fast-paced prototyping efforts.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
