What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of hands-on development experience designing high quality solutions, conducting peer reviews, implementing user stories, and supporting production applications
  • Extensive experience in Java, REST APIs, JSON, and Web based applications
  • Experience in a lead or senior role on a product engineering team guiding developers on best practices related to all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
  • Expertise in working with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS)
  • Experience with API Gateway, OAuth, and security best practices in cloud applications
  • Ability to work closely with the product manager and end users to translate business requirements into scalable and highly available tools
  • Experience with SaaS and cloud-based technologies (Google Cloud, Google Pub Sub)
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or React

This salary range is specific to Colorado, New York, California, and Washington.

The starting salary for this position is $106,800– $122,700 and may increase to $177,900 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from the Houston Corporate office or a remote location.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for Sr Software Engineer to join our Tailored Technology team.  This individual will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, containerization, and DevOps practices. This role requires a strong problem solver with a passion for building scalable, high-performance applications in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices applications in the cloud to join our Store Systems team.

 

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient microservices architectures
  • Build multiple micro-services that cohesively support a larger piece of functionality
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services that are performant, scalable and secure
  • Implement best coding practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior members of the team
  • Build applications with a mobile first approach
  • Ability to estimate level of efforts with a high degree of accuracy
  • Work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams to define system architecture and requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions for the applications built
