This person will be fully integrated into a dynamic Tax Department and report to the Tax Manager. Responsibilities include preparation of federal and state tax returns, sales tax returns, unclaimed property reports, annual filings, and property tax reports. They will need to be able to take sole responsibility for some projects and work closely with other departments in a team environment.
Essential Functions
- Preparation of federal and state tax returns
- Preparation of sales, use and excise tax returns
- Preparation of unclaimed property reports
- Preparation of personal property tax and related filings
- Preparation of fixed asset depreciation reports, asset reconciliations, projections
- Filing of annual reports and business license renewals
- Assist tax team with special projects, tax research, and REIT compliance requirements
- Assist with audit requests from internal and external sources
- Assist with tax notice resolutions
- Coordinate with outside tax consultants as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA certification preferred
- 1 year relevant tax experience
- 1 year with public accounting experience preferred
- Prior Real Estate/Multifamily experience is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Prior experience with Oracle’s Cloud EPM and ERP a plus
- Strong Organizational Skills required
- Strict confidentiality required

- Will use some repetitive motion of hand-wrist in using computer and writing

- May require long hours and odd schedules (including weekends)
- Position requires periodic travel by automobile to handle work-related activities
- May require airline travel, out-of-town and /or overnight trips
- Attendance and punctuality is essential for success in this position
- Hazards can be minimized with proper lifting techniques, SDS, general safety training, and wearing appropriate PPE
