We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for technical phraseology, AutoCAD experience and preferably previous work experience in conformity/inspection or knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:


 




  • Develop and publish Test Plans, Work Orders, Test Reports and related documentation for test articles and projects.

  • Determine the type of test plan required.

  • Coordinate with the certification department to ensure compliance with the manufacturer’s process.

  • Request approval of test plans for special projects.

  • Work closely with ODA’s to ensure compliance with policy and procedure.

  • Generate a standard flammability test plan requested by the manufacturer.

  • Provide guidance and insight for all Flammability and lab testing related activities.

  • Provide support for all flammability testing and associated test plans, and test reports for FAA certification.

  • Prepare price quotes for Test Plans/Reports & communicate with the client for approval & credit applications.

  • Serve as a focal point and technical resource for manufacturing, quality assurance, design engineering, and certification engineering to resolve certification/manufacturing issues as related to FAA/EASA flammability compliance.

  • Participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with all certification requirements and flammability requirements of the design.

  • Reviews test memos and plans of all direct reports for accuracy, completeness and to ensure reduced testing based on the similarity of design/construction.

  • Other duties as assigned.



 


Minimum Qualifications and Skills:


 




  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Communicate effectively in English (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus).

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and 10-year background check (criminal/employment).

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to interpret and understand technical documentation.

  • Minimum of 2 years college (business or aviation) or 5 years relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements or previous conformity/inspection experience a plus.

  • AutoCAD experience a plus.



Physical Requirements:




  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.




 


Work Environment:


 




  • This job operates in a professional office environment, a warehouse facility and a flammability burn testing area.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
