JOB SUMMARY: The Leave Administrator Level 1 will be responsible for administering and managing various employee leave programs, including Workers' Compensation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Personal Leave, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Leave of Absence (LOA). This role involves collaborating closely with third-party administrators to ensure the smooth and compliant handling of leave cases. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and be able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Workers' Compensation Administration:

  • FMLA Administration:

  • Personal Leave Administration:

    •  Coordinate with third-party administrators to process and manage Workers' Compensation claims.

    • Monitor and follow up on claims to ensure timely and accurate processing by thirdparty administrators.

    • Maintain records and ensure compliance with state Workers' Compensation laws.

    • Work with third-party administrators to manage and track FMLA leave requests, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

    • Coordinate with employees, management, and third-party administrators to communicate FMLA eligibility, rights, and responsibilities.

    • Maintain accurate records of FMLA leave and ensure proper documentation is collected and filed.

    • Administer and process personal leave requests in accordance with company policies.

    • Communicate leave policies and procedures to employees and management.

    • Ensure accurate tracking and record-keeping of personal leave balances and usage.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES



  • Collaborate with third-party administrators to manage the administration of STD and LTD benefits, including claims processing and communication.

  • Ensure timely submission of claims and proper documentation in coordination with third-party administrators.

  • Maintain records of STD and LTD claims and communicate status updates to employees and management.

  • Administer and manage LOA requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

  • Coordinate with employees, management, and external vendors to facilitate a smooth transition back to work.

  • Track and maintain records of LOA, including reasons for leave and expected return dates.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in leave administration, human resources, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of FMLA, Workers' Compensation, STD, LTD, and other leave-related regulations.

  • Experience working with third-party administrators for leave programs is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
