Responsibilities:



  • Provide engineering support on Mechanical equipment,

  • Conceptualize mechanical design solutions,

  • Perform and/or supervise creation of design layouts,

  • Perform and/or supervise creation of detail drawings,

  • Perform tolerance studies and check design documentation,

  • Research and specify purchase components parts,

  • Create component and system level test plans and test fixtures,

  • Create engineering reports documenting design efforts and results,

  • Work with operations to identify product improvements,

  • Preform another work-related task as assigned,

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures,

  • Support project engineering with Quotes, Cost Price Analysis, and other technical documentation as necessary,

  • Apply technical knowledge to develop specific customer-centric solutions,

  • Participate in contract reviews & internal design review meetings, being aware of commercial implications,

  • Ensure designs produced are efficient and cost effective, seeking to reuse existing designs and components wherever is practical,

  • Ensure accurate record keeping in relation to projects and time recording to required schedule,

  • Prepare purchasing requisitions, and follow-up with vendors regarding status and delivery as necessary.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

  • Location: Houston, TX

  • 2 or more years of experience manufacturing or design engineering preferred.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and machining,

  • Ability to obtain certifications and compliance to allow travel to rig and shipyards, both domestic, overseas, land based and offshore.Β 

  • Travel required as dictated by project needs and to provide site installation, commissioning and testing support or other related activity as required.

  • Available as needed for project support outside of regular business hours.
