The Auditor II assists in the development and implementation of audit tools and techniques to ensure the successful completion of audit projects in compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). This position interacts and communicates with all levels within the organization, including the Company’s external auditor.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts and leads audits individually and as part of a team, ensuring engagements meet or exceed Company policies, Internal Audit Charter, and the IIA framework.
- Develops, plans, executes, and completes audits in a timely and professional manner, adhering to IIA guidelines and the Company’s audit procedures.
- Conducts risk assessments and reviews past audits to develop the audit plan, outlining the nature, timing, and extent of testing.
- Creates work products that are flexible, logical, understandable, and usable by others.
- Maintains current documentation in the Company’s audit program, including audit plans, final reports, and time utilization.
- Adds value to the organization and improves operations by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, simplify processes, and minimize risk.
- Builds and nurtures working relationships with employees outside the Internal Audit department and acts as an ambassador for the department and its mission.
- Maintains positive and effective communication with employees, external auditors, and consultants while demonstrating independence, objectivity, and professionalism.
- Handles confidential and sensitive information with honesty, integrity, and trust.
- Maintains the highest level of ethical standards and ensures due professional care.
- 20% Travel Internationally
Qualifications / Experience
- Professional certification (CPA, CA, CIA, etc.) required or in progress.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from an accredited college or university (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years in a similar role within a business of comparable size and complexity (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or audit (preferred).
- Audit experience in public accounting (preferred).
Skills & Experience
- Ability to prepare well-written work products using clear language, sound logic, and proper grammar and spelling.
- Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn the Company’s ERP system, Audit Program, and Computer-Aided Audit Technologies (CAATs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
