The Learner's Nest Academy in Houston, TX is looking for one support/floater teacher to join our strong team. We are located on 17214 Red Oak Drive. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and loves children.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning and development through age-appropriate activities.
- Promote socialization.
- Ensure the overall well-being of children.
- Supervise and monitor children's indoor and outdoor activities
- Keep records of children's progress, routines and interests and relaying needed information to parents.
- Assist in preparing food and serving meals.
- Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
- Observes all rules and regulations at The Learner's Nest Academy and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
- Maintains an attractive, well-kept clean and sterile environment / classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in The Learner's Nest Academy's employee handbook
- Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old and possess a high school diploma/GED or higher.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
- First Aid / CPR certification or willingness to become certified.
- Be available to work Monday through Friday.
- 1 year experience within child care (preferred).
- Ability to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challenges.
- Good judgment and sound decision making.
- Must be a team player with a great attitude.
- Ability to lift and move supplies.
