The Learner's Nest Academy in Houston, TX is looking for one support/floater teacher to join our strong team. We are located on 17214 Red Oak Drive. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and loves children.

THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION Weekly hours will vary from 15-20

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learning and development through age-appropriate activities.
  • Promote socialization.
  • Ensure the overall well-being of children.
  • Supervise and monitor children's indoor and outdoor activities
  • Keep records of children's progress, routines and interests and relaying needed information to parents.
  • Assist in preparing food and serving meals.
  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at The Learner's Nest Academy and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept clean and sterile environment / classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in The Learner's Nest Academy's employee handbook
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.


Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years old and possess a high school diploma/GED or higher.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
  • First Aid / CPR certification or willingness to become certified.
  • Be available to work Monday through Friday.
  • 1 year experience within child care (preferred).
  • Ability to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challenges.
  • Good judgment and sound decision making.
  • Must be a team player with a great attitude.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies.
