Our client, a Houston based engineering firm is a multi-disciplined organization. Their projects consist of public infrastructure, residential developments, educational facilities, medical facilities, petrochemical complexes, chain stores, transportation, commercial development, industrial facilities, port and harbor facilities, aviation, high rise and low rise buildings.

Job Description

They are looking for a Construction Materials Engineering Manager to lead a team of 15+ technicians tasked with quality assurance and materials testing to establish confidence that all materials and techniques used are accomplished under the standards required by the design team.

This includes:

  • Soil testing, including but not limited to; densities, proctors, plasticity indices, gradations, - 200's, fly-ash, cement and lime stabilization, and geotechnical testing.
  • Concrete Testing, including but not limited to; slump, air, cylinders, beams, yield, coring, cement content, mix design verification, batch plant inspection and rebar inspection.
  • Asphalt Testing, including but not limited to; densities, cutback sampling, cores, specific gravity, bulk density, gradation and extraction, mix design and stability.
  • Structural steel testing, including but not limited to; weld inspection, A325 bolt torque, welder qualifications, magnetic particle inspections, ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, paint thickness, holiday testing and sandblasting inspection

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering in civil/geotechnical or materials engineering
  • 5+ years experience in the US
  • Licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in the US
  • Nice to have - NICET Level III or IV technician in soils, concrete and asphalt

Salary: Commensurate with experience, bonus, vacation, medical/dental/401(k)
