Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is seeking a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Management Platform Administrator to join our team in Houston, TX. This hybrid role requires candidates to work on-site occasionally, with the remainder of the time spent working remotely. The candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of the DCIM solution to ensure efficient data center operations. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to streamline infrastructure management, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices to enhance data center performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing DCIM systems, IT infrastructure, and data center operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Platform Administration: 
    • Maintain, update, and secure the DCIM platform to ensure seamless functionality and integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., CMDB, BMS, ITSM).
  • System Monitoring & Optimization: 
    • Continuously monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements for peak operational efficiency.
  • Data Integration & Reporting: 
    • Integrate DCIM with other systems and develop dashboards and reports that provide valuable data insights to enhance decision-making.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: 
    • Provide technical support and resolve hardware/software issues related to data center infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Documentation & Training: 
    • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and train internal teams on best practices for platform usage and reporting.
  • Compliance & Security: 
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards and security policies, conduct audits, and perform regular system checks to prevent data breaches and ensure security compliance.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: 
    • Work closely with IT and operations teams to enhance system capabilities, and stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in data center management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as ITIL, Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA), or similar.
  • Experience with automation or scripting tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with data center energy management and sustainability practices.
Requirements
  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
  • New hires assigned on this project will be required to undergo and pass drug and alcohol tests per our client's contract requirements
  • Public Trust Clearance preferred.
  • 10-15 years of professional experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer
  • Hands-on experience with DCIM platforms such as Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Sunbird DCIM, or Nlyte.
  • Familiarity with IT systems integration, monitoring, and reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data center operations, IT infrastructure, and system security.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a data center environment.
