As a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate you'll work collaboratively with the managers and production workers to identify outbound orders and schedule deliveries through clear and professional communication.
What Does a Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate do?
Handles basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with gas, checking oil, and making sure required inspections are performed.
Completes daily vehicle inspection report and advises Plant Manager if delivery trucks need repairs or maintenance.
Maintains a clean and organized truck.
Develops working relationships with customer base and identifies key points of contact for daily transactions on scheduled routes and non-scheduled routes
Responds positively to requests from customers, employees and visitors.
Maintains professional appearance that represents the Emory brand.
Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service while driving and delivering.
Ensures all returned assets are in good working order and staged accordingly upon return to the Distribution Center.
Operates assigned vehicle with the highest of standards and focuses directly on ensuring the safety of themself and others while on the roadway.
Maintains all requirements of the State DOT/DMV standards for Commercial Class drivers and keeps up with any changes or updates to the defined regulations.
Participates in all safety training offered by the department with specific regard to transportation and warehousing.
Operates all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) with regards to safe practice and best application for the assigned task.
Reviews all current road/traffic reports to reduce travel time and increase efficiency and show effectiveness through documentation of daily trip logs.
Ensures all fuel receipts are submitted accurately within the time frame and process established by management.
Shows a level of understanding for the operations of the dry ice production and what drives changes to daily workload.
Receives and processes incoming stock.
Maintains clear records on all inventory and stock.
Works at maintaining a safe work environment and remains in compliance of all Company, Local, State and Federal mandates or programs.
Name of Position skills and proficiencies:
High school diploma or GED
Three years of driving experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, no moving violations within the past three years.
Must demonstrate a proficiency with smartphone or tablet applications used in two-way communications, GPS wayfinding and/or vehicle safety monitoring
Experience in light industrial and warehousing environment (preferred)
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 1500 lbs with the assistance of manual or power assisted MHE
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
