Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for roadway public sector projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from detailed sketches or off red-lines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/Open Roads
  • Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings
  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names; line and character styles; drawings and file names for sheet layout
  • Handle AutoCAD transfers
  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision
  • Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
  • Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
  • Flexible in work assignments and team assignments

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education
  • 7 years' experience in civil design - commercial, transportation, utilities
  • Extremely proficient in AutoCAD- Civil 3D, with strong MicroStation/Open Roads experience
  • Effective communications skillsΒ both oral and written skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients and public agency officials
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
  • MustΒ be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
  • Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday,Β with occasional overtime #LI-TJ1
