Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our Earth Data Digital Geology team.  The Digital Geology group is rapidly growing with various initiative that will deliver the most comprehensive subsurface database in the industry and we are looking for a motivated individual to support this growth.   

  • You will have responsibility for an assigned set of clients and will be expected to grow the business annually through consistent client engagement and contract closure.

  • Working as part of a small team but with the independence required to successfully deliver on annual sales targets, you will become familiar with the Digital Geology portfolio and comfortable presenting to a wide audience, drawing on technical support of the business development and technical teams when required.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated to drive sales across their set clients.   Support and mentoring will be provided from various team members, but success will be driven by the candidate’s own initiative.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead client engagement for a designated set of clients.

  • Maintain and grow year on year revenue from assigned clients.

  • Promote portfolio of Digital Geology products.

  • Liaise closely with the business development team on both library and new Earth Data products.

  • Close co-operation with and, where appropriate, commercial mentoring and support to the business development team.   

Qualifications

Required:

  • Academic background in Geology and/or other related discipline; or related experience

  • A self-starter with interest in the commercial side of the Oil & Gas business.

  • An interest in developing a sales opportunity from cold calling to contract closure.

  • Highly organized with a pro-active approach to engaging with clients and colleagues.

  • Familiarity of the Oil & Gas sector and industry activity.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, targeting at a wide range of levels (including senior executives).

  • Capable of working independently without supervision.

  • Fluency in oral and written English.

Desired:

  • An established international client contact list.

  • A proven sales track record in the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Working knowledge of geological and petrophysical data.

  • Working knowledge of GIS and/or analytical software.

Additional Information

This position will be based in Houston, Crawley or Llandudno but will require travel as required in building and maintaining client relationships.
