Driver

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times


2. Call in when customer does not receive their entire order (shorts)


3. Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspection.


4. Report accidents and injuries and any damage to equipment immediately


5. Handle any customer complaints professionally by referring issue to right department  


6. Responsible for upkeep of vehicles at end of shift- clean cab and box


7. Work overtime if required as requested by the Supervisor


8. Perform other duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:

• A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or Class B


• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable commercial motor vehicle (bobtail or 18-Wheeler) driving experience with at least one (1) year city driving experience


• No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) accident within the last three (3) years. Combined number of moving violations and accidents cannot exceed two (2) in a three (3) year period.  No more than one (1) accident in the past twenty-four (24) months


• Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic

2)  Minimum experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred


• Be at least 25 years old 


• Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time

4)  Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk


• Lift and move cases ranging in weight up to 75 lbs. continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead. 


• Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms


• Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.


• Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


• Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position


• Must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
