Location: 2320 Lamar Street, Houston, TX 77003 

Hours: Vary & Some Weekends Required - Monday-Friday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM and/or 7:00AM - 3:30 PM

Job Responsibilities:

1. Drives truck as required to pick up and/or deliver donated items or supplies and oversees the clients to ensure they perform their Distribution Center duties while assisting driver.
2. Responsible for receiving, maintaining, and recording an inventory of all donated items in order to provide for the needs of our clients.
3. Responsible for assisting with the unloading of the vehicle upon returning to the Storehouse.
4. Responsible to receive and secure any cash, checks or other invoices, receipts or other documentation related to donations to SOH and follow written protocol to document these transactions.
5. Responsible for submitting work orders as needed to ensure all equipment is operating in a safe manner.
6. Oversee the baling of used clothing, ensuring that clients are trained and working safely.
7. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean working environment for all visitors, residents and employees ensuring that no one is injured.
8. Assist at Corner Stone when necessary and collect donations, write donation receipts and place donations in their respective bins.
9. Assist at Corner Stone with replenishing all incoming inventory from DDC as needed and assist with processing incoming packages, this shall include contacting the proper department, and delivering all packages the same day, when possible, if not all packages shall be delivered within 24 hours.
10. If assigned to closing, be sure to check freezer and cooler temperatures prior to leaving the building.
11. Responsible for assisting the loading / unloading of laundry carts for transporting from and to DDC Lamar and WFDC Cornerstone.

Other Job Responsibilities:

1. Must be proficient in the Inventory Database and provide back up support as needed.
2. Other duties as assigned.
3. Participate in Ministry and prayer, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Education, Skills & Experience: High School diploma or GED. Must have at least one (1) year of public or private transportation experience, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others. Prefer at least one (1) year Distribution Center or Warehouse experience and strong inventory skills.   

Must be able to read, good written and oral communication skills. Must be able to read and understand a key map. 

Be able to work respectfully, professionally and in a Christ-like manner with everyone, able to maintain required client/staff boundaries and possess a willingness to serve the Lord in a ministry that deals with homeless men, women and children. 

Equipment Used: 24’ Bobtail, standard shift truck, forklift, computer, fax, copier, multi-line phone system and calculator. Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record and current liability insurance.
