Position Summary 

The Gas Marketing Analyst will support Chord Energy's Marketing entity in a variety of areas, with an emphasis on data management, analytics, accounting, and compliance related functions. Internal communication is required with various departments including Legal, Treasury, IT, Financial Reporting, and Accounting along with external communication with companies with whom Marketing transacts business. This position is based in Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide accurate and actionable insights which support marketing and trading decisions
  • Help shape strategic view on regional crude and gas markets
  • Collaborate on monthly price forecasting
  • Run predictive analysis to identify arbitrage opportunities
  • Track industry developments including regulations, infrastructure projects, capital plans, etc.
  • Liaison between commercial groups, Development and Accounting
  • Monitor new well activity and development plans in coordination with the Asset Team as well as external counterparties
  • Monitor third party infrastructure and capacity constraints to ensure flow assurance
  • Provide guidance to other marketing functions, accounting, reservoir, planning and other groups.
  • Work cross-functionally to move necessary department projects forward
  • Handle other duties and projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Oil and gas industry experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Innovative mindset, eager to learn new technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience in oil and gas marketing
  • Natural gas scheduling experience
  • Experience with EMK3 system and M-Files
