Junior Graphic Designer 

Reports to Brand Director 

JOB PURPOSE 

The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external partners and our executive team to align design with business strategy. They will design high-impact visual assets for existing and new brands/company divisions for Goode Co. and Levi Goode Brands in collaboration with our creative agency of record. 

Each design deliverable will be designed to drive traffic, sales, trial, reservations and overall brand awareness for an independently owned restaurant group that provides authentic Texas hospitality and lifestyle through fare and unique experiences. Tasks could include designing digital ads for a high-level campaign, designing merchandise, creating print ads for local, regional and national publications, contributing to the build out of a UX/UI journey for our online shop, and keeping all internal design documents organized and current.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work alongside internal and external groups to manage short- and long-term projects, establishing approval workflow(s) and maintaining team timelines
  • Manage multiple projects in parallel alongside other designers, writers, restaurant managers, vendors and senior management, developing timelines and provide prioritization and tracking updates for all active projects
  • Lead comprehensive brand design strategy and execution 
  • Create compelling visual assets for digital and print platforms to support all brands and divisions 
  • Oversee visual creative and support the digital team across multiple social media accounts 
  • Collaborate with Technology to design UX/UI customer journeys designed to reach Goode Co./LG Brand target audience
  • Develop creative concepts for advertising campaigns 
  • Manage and maintain all supporting design elements – menus, merch, digital ads, signage, packaging, etc. in an organized way for all restaurants and brands 
  • Attend weekly meetings with creative agency partners and vendors
  • Work closely with photographers, videographers, printers and our creative agency to ensure visual consistency across all deliverables 
  • Collect and consolidate feedback from project stakeholders, summarizing and sharing with the internal brand team and external partners, as necessary
  • Facilitate and support photoshoots related to restaurant campaigns, new menu items, product shots, 3PD photography, new store openings and more 
  • Develop new merchandise for the Goode Co. and LG Brand e-commerce shops
  • Drive creative ideation and innovative design ideas for all groups  
  • Implement, maintain and evolve brand standards, guidelines, and voice across all platforms and touchpoints

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field 
  • Detailed portfolio showcasing breadth and depth of work product 
  • References from previous design roles 
  • Your cover letter must contain a brief summary of your design philosophy/approach
  • 2-4 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in food service or hospitality 
  • Exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite required. Knowledge of figma, and basic video editing a plus
  • Deep understanding of design principles, typography and color theory 
  • Experience with digital design tools and motion graphics software 
  • Advanced knowledge of the print and digital production processes 
  • Demonstrate ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and restaurant employees of all levels to problem solve and uncover opportunities 
  • Remain organized yet flexible, capable of working on multiple projects at the same time and remaining level-headed when priorities shift
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills (Spanish-speaking preferred but not required)
  • Interior design experience a plus
  • Knowledge of restaurant industry strategies and best practices a plus
  • Passion for restaurants and Western culture

They must be flexible and open to feedback with excellent creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Time management expertise is a must. a solid background in marketing communication with a track record of growing brands, preferably in the restaurant space. They should be proactive and strive to exceed expectations, be open to feedback and not afraid to ask for help, remain authentic to our brand, do what they say and own their mistakes. 

The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who can appreciate that no two days at Goode Company are ever the same. They would possess a curiosity for the industry and have a hunger for knowledge and growth within their role.
