INFUSION NURSE
Summary
The Infusion Nurse is responsible for direct and telephone nursing care for oncology and infusion patients in the Clinic. The Infusion Nurse comprehensively assesses patients in suite and over the phone, develops nursing care plans, coordinates tests and/or therapeutic procedures, implements ordered treatment(s), and counsels and educates patients to promote health. Also, the Infusion Nurse manages medication refills, medication administration and reconciliation, as well as vaccine administration and scheduling. And, the Infusion Nurse directs, supports, and guides unlicensed support staff and evaluates the effectiveness of the care plan in relation to health goals. Lastly, the Infusion Nurse is responsible for managing inventory, compounding, and administering chemotherapy and biologicals with appropriate screening, monitoring, and follow up.
