As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Digital Platforms team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.


Job responsibilities



  • Executes software solutions, design, development, automation and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Research evaluate and create solutions and make recommendations to solve business and technology problems

  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

  • Demonstrate understanding of deployment, migration, security, and performance in the software development life cycle

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations, Drive and contribute to continuous improvement of the team. 

  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills



  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience

  • Hands on experience writing, maintaining automated APIs tests written in Java using various open-source testing libraries like Selenium, Jest etc.

  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Java, JavaScript, Python etc.

  • Knowledge and experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with a testing framework like Cucumber

  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • Proven self-starter with ability to reach out to various groups to get the requirements to completion and translate business requirements into functional requirements



Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Experience deploying applications in AWS using containerized solutions

  • Experience with one or more querying languages such as SQL, Oracle, MySQL or No SQL databases

  • Hands on experience of working with continues integration tools such Jenkins (CI/CD) 

  • Experience of non-functional testing such as performance, load, stress, security, accessibility and usability testing
