Legal Assistant / Entry-Level Paralegal Location: Houston

We’re looking for a dynamic personal injury Legal Assistant / Entry-Level Paralegal to join our team and assist one of our partners! The legal assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate case files, being the liaison with the clients on their docket, working directly with our Attorneys and support staff to meet all court requirements for each case and serving as a reliable advocate for our growing list of clients.

Key Responsibilities:


· Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings, meetings and deadlines, organize case files, maintain file integrity and manage logistics etc.)

· File documents with state and federal courts

· Gather and organize documents for discovery responses

· Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices

· Maintain discovery indexes and investigative materials

· Draft correspondence and communicate daily with clients, experts, courts, investigative agencies and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner

· Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents, preparing and redacting exhibits

· Assist with case settlements

· Minor drafting based on experience


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes


· Minimum of 1 years’ experience in personal injury litigation

· Knowledge of Texas Civil Procedure and Local Court Rules

· Excellent verbal, written, and time management skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Great time management and multi-tasking skills

· Able to act independently and with minimal supervision

· Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter

· Proficient and experienced using paperless case management systems

· Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal) : preferred but not required

· Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment

· Enjoys providing the highest level of service to clients

· Ability to work well within a team

· Very computer savvy and able to learn new software

· Disciplined, diligent and enjoys using standard processes


Education & Experience


· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Required

· 1-2 years of personal injury litigation experience – Preferred
