We are looking for an energetic and dynamic senior electrical engineer to join the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) program in support of NASA’s LTV Services (LTVS) contract in partnership with Astrolab. Experience with Extravehicular Activities (EVA) or Robotics (EVR) operations and hardware is desired.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and build electrical and electronic hardware to enable human exploration of space
Work on a collaborative team developing Astrolab/Axiom’s LTV crew interfaces
Inspire the Agile development of safe, reliable, ready to install hardware that meets requirements and acceptance criteria
Serve as a Responsible Engineer (RE) and develop integrated design solutions, rapidly assess conceptual designs, and establish system requirements and performance parameters
Develop and manage requirements for hardware
Ensure designs satisfy requirements and demonstrate performance in a thorough verification and validation program
Perform trade studies for technology development
Analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications
Plan and perform testing of components and integrated assemblies
Oversee the integration of electrical systems into larger projects, ensuring system functionality, reliability, and safety
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and mechanical engineering to ensure cohesive system design
Conduct detailed analysis and simulation of physical systems to predict performance and identify potential issues
Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a learning environment
Drive innovation in electrical system design, exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance product capabilities
Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables related to electrical engineering tasks
Prepare and present technical reports, design documentation, and project updates to stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
B.S. Degree in electrical engineering or higher
5-10 years’ experience in electrical engineering preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with embedded system design with micro controller integration
Experience with PCB routing and high frequency signal routing
Experience with electrical system design tools and simulation software (e.g., Altium, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice)
