Role


The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design and produce drawings for downhole tools as well as surface pump and process equipment. Inventory maintenance of downhole tools will also be an essential function in this role. Success in this role depends on a strong orientation toward outstanding customer service, efficiency, safety, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions



  • Design, evaluate, and produce fabrication drawings per customer requirements.

  • Work closely with fab shop to ensure all products are being manufactured to the correct design and standards.

  • Assist supply chain department with specifying and sourcing correct components.

  • Evaluate existing designs to determine areas of performance/reliability improvements and appropriate cost targets; make recommendations & implement plans.

  • Understand and learn industry standards, applicable regulatory codes and requirements, and company standards while doing the designs.

  • Provide technical support to field operations throughout the life of the product.

  • Propose, develop, and/or implement modifications to existing equipment to improve/enhance its manufacturability, cost, performance, functionality, or reliability.

  • Effectively creates design plans, inspection, and test plans (ITP), plus material and testing standards.

  • Ensure all product documentation required for field operations and manufacturing remains current and readily available.

  • Perform sustaining, verification, and qualification tests at all levels from component to assembly to system level.

  • QA/QC of all inventory parts

  • Verify and inspect completion tools equipment and supplies shipped to the wellsite are in proper working condition.

  • Confirming that all down-hole tools are ready, complete, and correct for the job. Identifying any additional contingencies that should be provided for.

  • Promote and strictly adhere to all Company HSE policies and practices.

  • Understand and comply with all Company or external quality standards relevant to position.

  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with the company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements.

  • Perform other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • 3 years of experience with CAD (3-D modelling and 2D drafting)

  • Solidworks, Simulation and CFD experience is a plus.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Knowledge of downhole tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

  • 2 to 4 years of experience is preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands



  • This position requires working primarily in an office environment. When on work sites it requires working on surface areas that are often muddy or slippery. It also requires working around heavy machinery, mechanical equipment with moving parts and electrical equipment as well as exposure to loud noises and contaminants. The employee is regularly required to operate vehicles and drive long distances on company business.
