St John’s School is looking for passionate educators to join our community who know how to support middle school students and are committed to teaching the whole child. The ideal English candidate is knowledgeable about a wide range of literature including young adult literature and has experience with varied pedagogical and assessment practices. We seek teachers who have the flexibility to teach any middle school English course and value working in a highly collaborative teaching and learning environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with students with a wide range of academic capabilities and be open to their own continued professional growth. We seek individuals who support the school’s Mission and its Precepts and Principles.
Responsibilities include teaching a full-time course load of 4 sections; serving as an advisor to a group of 12-13 students, working as a member of a grade-level team, attending faculty meetings, and other shared middle school responsibilities.
