Experienced Paralegal Needed for Busy Plaintiff's Trial Law Firm

We prepare every case for trial from the time it is signed up. We try many cases a year across Texas. Our firm handles wrongful death, catastrophic injury cases, truck wrecks, car wrecks, work injuries, product liability, and other tort cases.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


 


We are looking for a mid-level paralegal who wants to join a rising legal team that is on the forefront of litigating and trying meaningful cases for the greater good of people.


You must be reliable, passionate, self-motivated, a team-player, and have extensive litigation and/or trial experience. You must also have solid references.




EXPERIENCE:


 


· At least 1-4 years’ experience in PLAINTIFF personal injury litigation.


· Bilingual highly preferred.




WHAT WILL THE JOB REQUIRE?


 


Drafting discovery, thorough knowledge of TRCP and FRCP rules which apply to trial preparation (i.e., 18.001’s, TRCP 203, business record affidavits, etc.), e-filing, preparing trial notebooks, ordering medical records, signing-up new cases, setting up medical appointments, supervising pre-lit legal assistants and support staff, responding to client inquiries, scheduling depositions, coordinating with record retrieval companies and deposition companies.


 


· Must have ability to manage case from sign-up to closing out post-verdict or settlement with assistance.


· Must be a team player and able to provide guidance to junior litigation paralegals and train when necessary to increase productivity.


· Possess leadership abilities and experience from file to trial to provide mentorship to junior paralegals and oversee docket of matters.




Primary duties also include:


 



  • Managing litigation dockets by taking ownership of your files.

  • Managing key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Client management.

  • Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials.

  • Investigating and fact-finding for cases.

  • Assisting in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts and agreements.

  • Organizing, indexing and tracking files.

  • Analyzing and organizing information to produce reports.

  • Providing administrative support for attorneys in court and at the offices.




Preferred Skills:


 



  • Excellent organizational and logic skills.

  • Excellent Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft 365).

  • Familiarity with legal databases, preferably Needles.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform on deadline.

  • Team player.




Preferred Education:


 



  • Associate degree in paralegal studies

  • Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) or the American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP) credential offered by the American Alliance of Paralegals, Inc.
