Provides technical and administrative support to the legal department which involves researching the law, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents. Carries out work of a routine nature, work is reviewed and evaluated by others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • 100% Legal Support

  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, legal articles, recorded judicial decisions, constitutions and legal codes.
  • Investigates facts and law of matter to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.
  • Prepares legal documents as directed by corporate counsel.
  • Interacts with the Company’s management team regarding specific requests for legal advice and support.
  • Establishes, monitors, and maintains case files. Documents communication with clients.
  • Provides general clerical support as needed.

  • MINIMUM Requirements

    Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or a Paralegal Certificate from an accredited school preferred
  • Certification/License

  • Certified or registered paralegal preferred.
  • Experience

  • Required
  • Four (4) years’ experience performing legal research and preparing legal documents for review, approval, and use by an attorney preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively use law digests, law encyclopedias, statutes, and administrative regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handling sensitive matters with discretion and tact.
  • Ability to interact with staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal writing requirements.
  • Skilled in researching, analyzing, and preparing legal documents.
