Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Engineering Designer IV/Checker for an E3D Offshore Projects in our Houston, TX Office. 


Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.



Responsibilities

Piping Designer/Checker has the following primary duties & responsibilities:



  • Capability to function in a primary design or design lead role with overall responsibility for discipline execution, maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the discipline project scope of work. 

  • Attend project meetings if needed

  • Monitor production levels and perform checking activities

  • Accountable for checking of deliverables for consistency and overall quality of work

  • To provide support to a project in all aspects of piping design and layout

  • Attend project model review meetings if needed


Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:



  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to discipline design team

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.

  • Proficient with appropriate department software tools.  

  • Complete understanding of proper drawing organization and production

  • Complete knowledge of department design and drafting standards and procedures.

  • Strong ethical standards. High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative.

  • Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable.

  • Accountable for results.

  • Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects.

  • Team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients.


Has some E3D software experience to do:



  • Pipe routing for Offshore facilities 

  • Equipment modeling a plus

  • Piping design modeling a plus

  • Pipe support modeling a plus



Qualifications

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in Piping Design/Drafting

  • A minimum of two (2) years of college or technical school in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Fifteen (15) years Refining & Chemicals Piping Design in the Oil and Gas Industry

  • Ability to work well with Clients, Project Management and team members

  • Presents professionally with good communication skills both orally and written
