Senior Accountant

We are a privately-owned, second-generation beverage wholesaler located in East Houston and we are seeking a Senior Accountant to add to our growing team! Our ideal candidate will be CPA eligible and have some combination of audit, financial reporting, and process improvement experience. This company is on the smaller side of midsize with $250MM+ in annual sales, so a small company mindset is required for the many different hats you will be expected to wear!

Key Responsibilities: 

• Preparing/reviewing monthly journal entries.
• Preparing the monthly financial reporting package, which includes the preparation of the cash flow statement, and standard account level variance analysis.
• Executive package reporting, which includes macro level trend analysis and summarized variance analysis.
• Current projects include process documentation of our inventory flows, which we hope will yield an audit program. We are currently adapting internally to a new product line, so we are looking to test our pricing system and inventory reporting to verify accuracy and process completion. 
• Quarterly internal financial review and year-end audit and tax preparation

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, & Certifications: 

• A Bachelors degree is required; a Master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.

 Requirements 

• 5+ years of Accounting experience
• Software project or system implementation experience preferred.
• A problem solving mindset 
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel
